Relative to category peers · methodologyPros & cons
- Independent robot testing on the 7-iron: 119.4mph ball speed + 173yd carry + 14.7° launch + 5,558rpm spin on 29.5° loft — strong 2022 players-distance numbers
- Industry awards recognition: exceptional distance + consistently high apex + tight spin + steep descent + workable yet forgiving + soft impact feel + mis-hits retain height and direction
- Three significant improvements vs 2020/2021: 5-step forged body AND face + sleeker topline with reduced offset + lighter+softer foam
- 'Lovely refined head shape' + 'a stunner — clean and elegant + V-shape rear section' per reviewer testing
- Reviewer note: 'our test data doesn't show the Forged Tec ripping up trees' — the 2022 update is incremental over 2020/2021 not generational
- Speed gain measured as one yard longer carries on average vs 2021 chassis — fractional, not transformative
- 29.5° 7-iron loft is strong — distance is achieved partly through aggressive lofts that compress traditional gapping
- Now 3+ years old — superseded by 2024 KING Tec + 2026 KING Tec line
