Relative to category peers · methodologyPros & cons
- Independent robot testing: +5yd carry vs category average + one of the fastest ball speeds recorded on the robot — leader in ball speed retention + low spin + carry distance
- Reviewer testing: 'best feeling hollow body iron in golf' + robust deep-pitched thwack that feels anything but hollow — foam-microsphere damping defies hollow-body category penalty
- Reviewer robot testing measured 148/173/193yd carry with 9/7/5 irons — strong category carry numbers
- Forged PWRShell H.O.T. Face + 20g tungsten in the toe + foam-microsphere hollow body + Cobra Connect/Arccos grips built in
- 29.5° 7-iron loft is strong — distance is achieved partly through aggressive lofts that compress traditional gapping
- Hollow body + foam-damping construction doesn't deliver the pure-blade feel of the MB sibling — feedback dulled vs traditional forging
- Now 4+ years old — superseded by 2022 KING Forged Tec refresh (sleeker topline + reduced offset + lighter foam + thinner face)
- Essentially the same product as the 2020 KING Forged Tec — minor in-cycle refinement only, not a generational refresh
