Spider GTX
CaddyIndex™ breakdown — what the agentic research found across each of the six performance dimensions, with cited sources.
You want maximum forgiveness and a rock-steady face on long putts, you putt with a straight stroke, and you like the option of a center-shafted, single-bend or slant hosel.
You want to shape putts with an arc, you prefer a soft insert, or you want a compact head.
Pros
- A measured 5330 MOI - among the most forgiving putters for its size
- A 154g steel back ring for a deeper CG and a steadier face
- Especially consistent on long putts even when mis-struck
- Three hosels - single-bend, center-shafted and slant-neck
Cons
- The deeper CG limits shot-shaping - built for a straight stroke
- A firmer feel than golfers who want a soft insert may prefer
- A large head some players find too boxy
By dimension
Forgiveness
Best-in-class - a measured MOI of 5330 g/cm2 (among the most forgiving putters for its size) with a 154g heavy stainless-steel back weight ring creating a deeper CG and a 194g 6061 aluminium top plate; extremely forgiving and consistent even on poor strikes, especially on long putts. Among the most forgiving mallets ever.
Distance
A standout - the firmer co-molded PureRoll 2 insert uses silver aluminium beams at a 45-degree angle to improve topspin across the face, a consistent forward roll. Among the better putters for distance control.
Workability
Built for stability, not shot-shaping - the 154g back weight ring creates a deeper center of gravity for less face rotation and enhanced stability, with three hosel options: single-bend, slant-neck and center-shafted. The deeper CG and face-balanced/center-shaft options make this one of the least workable, most stable Spiders.
Feel
Solid and firm - the new firmer co-molded PureRoll 2 insert is TPU urethane with silver aluminium beams, a positive, responsive strike. A solid, firmer feel than the softest Spiders - the urethane insert gives a connected strike.
Sound
A clean, muted note - the co-molded urethane insert dampens impact, a controlled acoustic. A clean, muted note, a touch firmer than the softest Spiders.
Looks at address
Clean and confident - the GTX returns to the True Path visual alignment of the Spider X with a short sightline, a large, stable head. A clean, alignment-friendly mallet, though a large head some find boxy.
