P7MC
CaddyIndex™ breakdown — what the agentic research found across each of the six performance dimensions, with cited sources.
You're a low-handicap ball striker who wants the workability and feel of a blade with a little more forgiveness from a compact muscle-cavity.
You need real forgiveness or distance (the P770), or you want the purest blade for maximum control (the P7MB).
Pros
- Some of the best feel in any TaylorMade iron - a 2,000-tonne grain-forged carbon steel muscle-cavity, wonderfully soft on centre
- Sneaky good forgiveness - perimeter weighting makes it much more tolerant of mishits than the P7MB blade
- Elite workability - hit it high or low, draw or fade, with solid distance control
- TaylorMade's most-played iron on tour - a compact, blade-like shape with a touch of help
Cons
- Still a players' iron - not nearly as forgiving as a game-improvement or distance iron
- Traditional players' lofts and moderate distance - for skilled ball strikers
- Plus to single-digit handicaps - feedback firms up on poor strikes
By dimension
Forgiveness
Sneaky good - much more tolerant of mishits than the P7MB, with a much smaller poor-strike drop-off thanks to perimeter weighting, keeping ball speed and distance more consistent on misses. Good forgiveness for a compact muscle-cavity, well above the MB blade.
Distance
Traditional players' distance - traditional players' lofts, with solid distance control. Moderate distance for a players' muscle-cavity, slightly above the blade.
Workability
Elite shot control - it lets you hit it high or low, draw or fade, all with solid distance control, the compact, tour-shaped head rewarding shot-shaping. Elite workability for a players' iron, near the MB blade.
Feel
Best TM feel - some of the best feel in any TaylorMade iron, wonderfully soft on centre, the 2,000-tonne grain forging giving a soft, buttery feel. Class-leading feel for a players' iron.
Sound
Quiet thud - a quiet impact, little more than a soft thud off the forged carbon steel, a muted, premium acoustic. A refined sound for a players' iron.
Looks at address
Compact and clean - a thin topline, minimal offset and compact, tour-inspired shaping, looking barely more forgiving than the blade. One of the best-looking players' irons of its era.
