You're a skilled, low-to-mid handicapper who wants a compact, workable, forged players' iron with surprising forgiveness and a soft feel.
You need maximum forgiveness or distance (the P or XP), easy launch, or you don't strike it consistently.

- Impressive forgiveness for a compact head - at the top of its class among similar-sized players' irons
- Significantly faster than Gen2 - 2.8 mph more ball speed (~113.8 mph) without changing lofts
- Plenty of workability - it controls distance and trajectory for shot-shaping
- A softer feel than Gen2 from the dual-material Impact Reactor core, in PXG's best-looking heads to date
Cons
- More compact and slightly less forgiving than the P and XP - a better-player iron
- Premium-priced
- Several generations old now - superseded by later Gen4-Gen8 0311 T irons
By dimension
Forgiveness
Impressive for a compact head - the forgiveness is impressive, at the very top of its class compared to other similar-sized players' irons, the hollow-body construction adding stability to the compact Tour head. Strong forgiveness for a compact better-player iron, if behind the P and XP.
Distance
Faster than Gen2 - 2.8 mph more ball speed than Gen2, around 113.8 mph average, up to 117 mph, without changing lofts, the dual-material core driving the speed gain. Strong distance for a compact players' iron.
Workability
The shaper of the line - the T offers plenty of workability, controlling distance and trajectory, the T head offering workability for shaping the ball versus the straighter-flying P and XP. The most workable Gen3 hollow-body.
Feel
Softer than Gen2 - the Impact Reactor dual-material core gives a feel softer than Gen2 with incredible performance, a premium forged sensation. A soft, satisfying strike.
Sound
Crisp and refined - a solid, crisp note off the dual-material face, a clean, premium acoustic. A refined sound to match the soft feel.
Looks at address
PXG's best yet - the Gen3 is PXG's best-looking models to date, the back shape calling to mind the ST muscle-back, a clean, compact Tour shape with a thin top line. One of the best-looking players' irons of its era.
