RTX Full-Face 2Frequently asked questions about wedges
What wedges should I carry?
Most golfers carry two or three wedges beyond the pitching wedge, commonly a 52, 56 and 60 degree, or a 50, 54 and 58 degree. Keeping roughly four to six degrees between wedges gives even distance gaps.
Do wedge grooves wear out?
Yes. Wedges hit the most spin dependent shots and their grooves wear faster than any other club, so inspect the face closely on used wedges. Fresh grooves grip the ball and produce more spin around the greens.
What bounce do I need?
Low bounce (4 to 6 degrees) suits firm turf and shallow swings; high bounce (10 degrees or more) suits soft turf, bunkers and steeper swings. Mid bounce is the safe all round choice if you are unsure.
