- Looks87
Watch
Rated highest for feel and sound; its softest dimension is workability.
You putt straight back and through and want honest feedback from a compact mallet.
Your stroke arcs at all, or you want the softest strike in the line.
Pros
- Built squarely for a straight stroke, unlike almost everything else Scotty sold that year
- Steadier than a traditional mallet without turning into a slab
- A face that tells you exactly where you struck it
- Weights change with length so a short build does not go light
Cons
- Firmer at impact than the blades alongside it, which some will read as harsh
- The alignment line finishes early rather than running to the rear edge, which not everyone likes
By dimension
Forgiveness
ExcellentSwapping part of the sole for lighter metal frees steel for the rim, and gentle misses barely register.
Distance
ExcellentPace holds up on a decent strike, but the face is honest enough that a bad one comes up short.
Workability
ModestThe shaft bends once and sets the hands well ahead, so the face stays square rather than releasing.
Feel
ExcellentFirmer than the blades in this line, and it reports a miss straight back through the hands.
Sound
ExcellentA brief, fairly bright note that hardens the further from centre you catch it.
Looks at address
ExcellentRounded and shallow behind the ball, but the aiming mark stops well before the rear edge.
