Where it wins
- Feel90
- Sound88
- Looks88
Watch
Rated highest for feel and sound; its softest dimension is forgiveness.
Your stroke arcs strongly and you want feel ahead of stability.
You miss the middle often, or you putt anywhere near straight.
Pros
- The most toe flow in the range, for a genuinely arcing stroke
- Milled from one piece of steel, which is why it feels the way it does
- Steel weights you can swap by length rather than taping lead to the sole
- Face rotation that feels natural rather than mechanical
Cons
- Stray far from the middle and the ball comes up short, as with any traditional blade shape
- The flange line and shoulder shaping are not to every eye
By dimension
Forgiveness
StrongA classic blade footprint, kind enough near the middle and unkind once you stray wide.
Distance
ExcellentPace is reliable when you find the centre, and drops away as contact moves outward.
Workability
StrongFive o'clock toe hang and the most release Scotty offers, for a stroke that swings well inside.
Feel
Class-leadingAll steel and nothing else, giving a strike that is soft without going vague.
Sound
ExcellentLow and short at impact, sharpening a little the further from the middle you catch it.
Looks at address
ExcellentThe cavity engraving is lovely, but the way the rear shaping meets the body splits opinion.
