Best for

You're a senior or moderate swing-speed player who wants effortless launch, near-10K-MOI forgiveness and genuine ball speed from a light, easy-to-swing driver.

Avoid if

You have higher speed, want to work the ball, or need full weight adjustability - the standard Lightning Max 10K+ or the Tour heads suit you better.

Pros

  • Possibly PXG's best driver for slower swing speeds - a 189g head (8% lighter than the standard Max) plus a ~40g shaft to help moderate swingers find speed
  • Near-10K MOI for extreme forgiveness despite the lighter head, and adjustable up past 10,000 g·cm2
  • Strong, no-compromise ball speed - the thinner Frequency Tuned Face makes the ball leave instantly
  • Best Senior Driver 2026, with a sharper, more solid feel that fixes the old dead PXG sound

Cons

  • No movable-weight structure - the least adjustable Lightning head, built straight rather than to shape
  • Lightweight and easy-launching - faster players and windy-day penetration aren't its strength

Forgiveness

Excellent

Near the standard Max's level despite the lighter head - with the weight savings of a fixed hosel, the MOI nears that of the Max's for extreme forgiveness, and adjustable weighting can push combined MOI past 10,000 g·cm2. The forgiveness is more usable rather than just soft, with real ball-speed retention on mishits. Genuinely stable for a lightweight head.

86

Distance

Excellent

A real strength - the thinner, faster face makes the ball feel like it leaves the clubface instantly, and despite the lighter head there's no sense of giving anything away in distance, with a Frequency Tuned Face that synchronises face deflection with ball compression for faster speeds. Strong ball speed for the moderate swinger, with no distance penalty for going light.

86

Feel

Excellent

Sharper and improved - previous PXG drivers could feel a little dead, but this one has a sharper, higher-pitched, more solid note that immediately feels quicker off the face without sounding hollow or clunky, helped by the Frequency Tuned Face delivering compression-synced vibrations. A genuine step up in PXG feel.
