Where it wins
- Looks85
- Feel83
- Distance81
Watch
Rated highest for looks and feel; its softest dimension is workability.
You want the first carbon-faced driver's ball-speed boost with strong all-round forgiveness - an easy mid-high launch and a larger face for moderate-to-fast swings and mid handicaps.
You want the lowest spin and most workability (the Stealth Plus), a draw bias (the Stealth HD), or dislike a muted carbon-face sound.
Pros
- The first 60X Carbon Twist Face - 44% lighter than titanium, adding ~2 mph of ball speed across the face versus the SIM2 Max in robot testing
- An 11% larger face than the SIM2 with a high-MOI Asymmetric Inertia Generator for consistent ball speed on mishits
- Gold medal on the 2022 Golf Digest Hot List, with class-leading consistency away from the sweet spot
- A striking, distinctive carbon face at address
Cons
- Prioritises speed over pure forgiveness - the lower-spin carbon face can make some mishits less forgiving than the SIM2
- The carbon face sound is muted and divisive - duller than the titanium SIM2
- The sliding weight is gone - no draw-fade bias adjustment
By dimension
Forgiveness
StrongForgiving, with a speed bias - an 11% larger face than the SIM2 and a high-MOI Asymmetric Inertia Generator that resists twisting on mishits, though the head prioritises speed and distance over pure forgiveness, with the lower-spin carbon face occasionally making mishits less forgiving than the SIM2. A clear step up in stability over the SIM2, if not a pure max-MOI head.
Distance
StrongCarbon-face speed - robot testing measured the Stealth adding around 2 mph of ball speed across all nine face points versus the SIM2 Max, with the 44%-lighter 60X Carbon Twist Face transferring more energy to the ball over a larger area. Genuinely fast, even if the real-world gain over the SIM2 is closer to 1 mph.
Workability
FairShapeable, slightly tamer - competent golfers can still work it around a dogleg or flight it down, though it gives up a little control to the SIM2, the larger, higher-MOI head being steadier than its predecessor. Moderate shot-shaping, not a tour shaper.
Feel
ExcellentSolid, but new - a solid impact from the carbon face, distinct from titanium and a touch firmer through the ball, a stable, substantial strike. A quality feel, if a departure from the SIM2.
Sound
StrongMuted and divisive - the carbon face produces a duller, more muted note than the titanium SIM2, a sound some players love and others do not, a lower-pitched, softer acoustic. The most polarising aspect of the new face.
Looks at address
ExcellentStriking and distinctive - a bold, woven carbon face that gives the Stealth a unique look at address, with a clean, premium crown. One of the most distinctive heads of its year.
