0311 V3 Forged Wedge
CaddyIndex™ breakdown: what our research found across each of the six performance dimensions, with cited sources.
You want the latest forged PXG wedge with a choice of two grinds, tons of greenside and bunker spin, and forgiving full swings - around £170.
You need a 62° lob wedge or the very softest milled feel - look at the Sugar Daddy line or a multi-grind tour wedge.
Pros
- Golf Digest 2026 Hot List Silver - the panel found full swings very forgiving, with minimal loss on off-centre hits
- Two sole grinds (BP with 13° bounce, S with 10°) plus excellent bunker performance in both firm and soft sand
- Tons of spin, especially greenside and from the bunker, from wider, tighter-spaced grooves
- Shapes anything - high, low, left, right, flop or runner
Cons
- Feel split testers - soft for some, firmer for others
- Six lofts only (50-60°) - no 62° lob option
- Premium forged pricing around £170+ without the 100% milling of the Sugar Daddy line
By dimension
Forgiveness
Surprisingly forgiving for a forged wedge - the 2026 Hot List panel called the full swings very forgiving with minimal loss on off-center hits, with high-toe weighting and progressive CG raising the moment of inertia and aligning the CG with open-face shots. Strong miss-tolerance in a clean, compact head.
Distance
Strong, controllable distance - high launch with good distance and tons of spin, especially greenside and from the bunker, the wider, tighter-spaced grooves designed for more reliable spin generation and improved trajectory control. Dependable yardage control across the scoring shots.
Workability
A clear step up on grind choice - two sole grinds now offered, the BP with 13 degrees of bounce and a wider sole and the S with 10 degrees and heel-toe relief, the panel saying it could shape anything: high, low, left, right, flop, runner. Far more shot and lie versatility than the single-grind 3X, if still short of a full tour grind menu.
Feel
Soft, refined forged feel with a caveat - the three-times forging gives a tighter, more uniform grain that delivers a softer feel at impact, with a clean, crisp feel and solid feedback, though feel split testers between soft and firm. The medium-soft 8620 carbon steel feel of the forged line carries through. A very good, if not unanimous, forged feel.
Sound
Confident, crisp note - a confident sound with good distance and a great sound with upbeat control, with the forged line's crisp snap on contact and low-pitched click. A clean, satisfying forged acoustic.
Looks at address
Clean and premium - a clean head and easy-to-shape look, with a compact size and traditional shape. Offered in Chrome or Xtreme Dark. A polished, classic PXG profile.
