CaddyIndex™ breakdown: what our research found across each of the six performance dimensions, with cited sources.
You want a soft-feeling forged wedge that excels on partial and greenside shots, with hidden forgiveness in a clean, classic head - strongest from 100 yards and in.
You need a grind menu for varied turf, or you want your best performance on full-swing wedge shots rather than partials.
Pros
- Golf Digest 2020 Hot List Silver - the panel praised the weighting and serious greenside grab
- Top of the partial-swing metrics and a top-three consistency pick in 2021 robot testing
- Outstanding forged feel from 8620 carbon steel, with powerful feel and good distance control
- Tungsten-and-titanium weighting raises MOI and weight position for control on open-face shots
Cons
- Less impressive on full shots than on partial and greenside shots in robot testing
- Just one sole grind - limited lie and condition customisation
- Premium launch price (around £250) for a forged, non-milled wedge
By dimension
Forgiveness
Hidden forgiveness in a clean head - the 2020 Hot List panel said the weighting was really perfect and credited the raised weight position for control, with 2021 robot testing ranking it a top-three consistency pick where it sat at the top for the majority of partial-swing metrics. Forgiveness and feel are hidden within a relatively benign appearance. Forgiving for a forged wedge, especially on the shorter shots.
Distance
Strong distance control on partials - 2021 robot testing placed it at the top for the majority of partial-swing metrics, a top-three consistency pick, though it wasn't quite as impressive on full shots. A powerful feel with good distance control. Dependable yardage control on the scoring shots, a little less so on full swings.
Workability
Versatile but single-grind - only one sole design is available, but it is versatile, allows creativity and fits most players reasonably well, with a moderate heel-toe taper that lets the face open. The panel praised how you can hit little 40-yard shots high or low so easily. Good greenside shot-shaping, but no grind menu for varied turf.
Feel
Outstanding forged feel - among the wedges offering outstanding feel, a powerful feel with good distance control. A medium-soft feel from the 8620 carbon steel, with centered contact very solid and satisfying, though firmer than the milled version. One of the better forged wedge feels of its era.
Sound
Clean forged note - a crisp snap on contact with premium balls and a low-pitched click, the sound turning duller on mishits for feedback. The tight grain structure of the forging gives a pure resonance and an outstanding feel and sound experience at impact. A satisfying, understated forged acoustic.
Looks at address
Clean and premium - a nice rounded look with a sweet satin finish, a compact size and traditional shape. The hidden technology sits behind a benign, classic profile. A polished, understated tour look.
