- Distance88
Watch
Rated highest for forgiveness and looks; its softest dimension is workability.
You have a straight stroke and want an accessible, easy-to-align zero-torque Jailbird with a very soft feel and toe-up stability.
You have an arc stroke, want strong feedback for pace, or dislike the stock grip — an arc mallet or a firmer putter suits you better.
Pros
- Exceptional zero-torque stability from a high-MOI Jailbird
- A very soft dual-urethane insert with a deeper FRD groove
- One of the most forgiving, easiest-to-align zero-torque putters, at an accessible price
Cons
- A heavily criticised stock grip with an awkward reverse-taper shape
- Pace control and long-putt stability divided testers
- A zero-torque, centre-shaft build only, so little for an arc stroke
By dimension
Forgiveness
Class-leadingA wide zero-torque Jailbird with a dual-urethane face, holding line and pace well out towards the toe and heel.
Distance
ExcellentA strength — the dual-urethane insert and a deeper FRD groove give an immediate, consistent roll, though pace control divided testers.
Workability
ModestThe shaft runs through the balance point so the head resists turning, leaving nothing to work the ball with.
Feel
ExcellentVery soft — the dual-urethane insert is among the softest around, though the zero-torque build gives some testers less feedback.
Sound
ExcellentA soft, quiet note at impact — the dual-urethane insert dampens the sound for a gentle, muted tone.
Looks at address
ExcellentThe familiar Jailbird shape with bold Versa alignment frames the target powerfully and rests naturally square at address.
